1930s Signal Electric Mfg. Co. R-Telegraph Straight Key Morse Code Tapper

The telegraph key is mounted on walnut plaque, marked, ‘Signal Electric Mfg. Co., Menominee, Mich.’

Signal Electric Manufacturing Co. began in 1892 as Menominee Electric and Mechanical Company, and made crank telephone generators and other items. In 1919 it was reorganized and renamed Signal Electric Manufacturing Co. The company produced wireless radio and telegraphic equipment.

In 1952 Signal Electric Manufacturing Co. was purchased by King-Seeley Thermos Co., which closed the division in 1954.
