1960s beautiful caramel San Cai pottery horse in high gloss. The Sancai technique dates back to the Tang dynasty (618–907AD). This wonderful piece has all the hallmarks of Tang San Cai terracotta potteries with skilfully applied glaze achieving amazing artistic effect. Horse's vivid expression bring the piece to life. His muscles are well defined. The horse is decorated with a spotty saddle, tassels, harnesses and jeweled bells. Sancai sculptures remain one of the most admired and treasured art forms in the world till this day.
