La Giostra 37 x 25 x 25 cm (HxWxD) – 8 kg
Serie of 6 numbered pieces
Bronze and marble

La giostra is a bronze sculpture of a chubby winged man .
The word Giostra means carrousel in Italian. The main character is riding a toy horse, in a playful attitude, and with a serene expression on his face. He seems at peace with himself, enjoying life.
He is dressing a costume, as a metaphor for the importance of playing and not take life seriously. The small backpack wings tell us about the importance of fly, as a modern Icarus, and reach our seared life, always.
This piece has a black patina with golden details, polished to reveal the natural bronze color. The black patina is made from the green one, after a burning process, so magical and mystical.
Please remember that this piece is part of a serie of 6, and the patina (colors) can vary a little from piece to piece (I always try to make them the most similar, but part of the beauty of patinas is exactly their uniqueness).
