Antique very rare Corkscrew Hausmann Patent 1903 marked GEHA GESCH PATENTED BREVETE.
Size 17 cm
The Geha is a very interesting corkscrew with its compound double lever action. It is also interesting for its markings and patent/registration history.
As for the markings, Ellis notes that the design was registered in Germany by Paul Honigbaum in 1902. The following year it was patented in England by George Hausmann as patent number 24,234
There are other variations of this corkscrew, one being marked "Goliath", and the other, "Champaign Moet & Chandon".
Double lever all steel version of Georg Hausmann registered design.
Marked on the hinged locking bar "Geha" the initials of Georg Hausmann and "PATENTAMTL.GESH. PATENTED BREVETE"
