Small still piggy bank like a safe called “the Daisy” looks like it might have been made by Shimer in the 1890s
William Shimer & Sons Company, an iron foundry and machine shop was located in Shimerville, just outside Freemansburg, Pennsylvania. It was in operation between 1875 and 1913.
The company manufactured a line of cast iron small automobiles (1909-1910), banks, horse-drawn toys, and trains.
William Shimer & Sons Company received a patent on April 23, 1895, for a firecracker canon.
Shimer ceased operations in 1913.
