Madonna and Child with the Infant Saint John by Raffaello Sanzio is a famous work known since the nineteenth century also with the title of Belle Jardinière.

The Madonna is sitting on a stone, with her body turned to the left. The Virgin’s face is tilted downwards towards her Son, who is leaning against his mother’s legs. To the right of Mary is the little Baptist, kneeling and facing Jesus. At the feet of the characters, on the lawn, various types of grass are painted, while in the background you can see a landscape with some buildings.
