Victor Amable Lhuer is a French designer, engraver and painter, born in Bucharest (Romania) on September 9, 1876 and died in Paris on February 11, 1952 .

Born in Bucharest to French parents, François Lhuerre, optician, and Laure Adolphine Louise Flan who returned to Paris in 1878, Victor Lhuer graduated from the National School of Decorative Arts in 1899. One of his older brothers , Gaston Théophile Lhuer (1868-1937) was also a painter and illustrator.

A pupil of Charles Genuys and Edmond Lechevallier-Chevignard, among others, he exhibited at the Salon des artistes français in 1899, 1902, 1903, 1904 and 1910.

He is a designer for the couturier Paul Poiret and specializes in costumes and haute couture. Later, he taught at the School of Applied Arts in Industry.

Married with two children, he was mobilized during the First World War.

There are illustrated contributions for Le Mois littéraire et picturesque (from 1900), the almanac du Pèlerin, the Journal des dames et des modes (1912-1914), La Viehappy.
