He was canonized by John Paul II on 21 May 2000.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p2\"\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"s1\"\u003eHe entered the seminary in Guadalajara at the age of fifteen, being ordained a priest in 1916.
