This clock was officially called a Rotary Mystery Desk Clock, but commonly known as a Tape Measure clock. Herman Lux acquired a patent for his design for a clock that resembles a tape measure in 1935. Rights to the design were then assigned to the Lux Clock Manufacturing Company of Waterbury, Connecticut.
