Yonezawa Toys, commonly known as Yone, was founded in the 1950s. Early brochures and catalogs used the anglicized S. Y. Toys Co., Ltd. It was headquartered in Tokyo. It was a large post-1945 Japanese toy manufacturer.

In the 1960s, the anglicized name changed to Yoneya Toy Co., Ltd. Although used by collectors, Yone was never used as a company name, although it did appear in a later trademark.

Yonezawa produced thousands of different electrically operated and mechanical toys through the 1970s. Then, in the mid-1980s, Yonezawa dabbled in radio control toys.

In 1991, Sega absorbed Yonezawa Toys and created Sega-Yonezawa. Sega abolished the Yonezawa brand in April 1998.
