Fábricas Monterrey, S.A., better known by its acronym FAMOSA, is a manufacturer of hermetic closures and aluminum cans, based in the city of Monterrey, Nuevo León. It has plants in Ensenada (Baja California) and Toluca (State of Mexico). Its client portfolio extends throughout America, including the Caribbean.

On March 30, 1920, it was installed for the bottling department of Cervecería Cuauhtémoc, S.A. a bottle cap manufacturing line to supply it with a single die-cutter and 26 employees.

When the die-cutting department grows, the board of directors of Cervecería Cuauhtémoc decides to change the packaging of its products from wooden boxes to corrugated cardboard, installing a plant that provided cheap boxes and generated cardboard sales to other customers, on August 14, 1929 , the elaboration of malt is also added, so that same year the company Fábricas Monterrey, S.A. is organized, which would group all the activities that were not related to the elaboration of beer.

In 1936, Fábricas Monterrey is restructured, changing its corporate name and main line of business to Malta, S.A.
