Gea is a bronze sculpture of a woman with flower hair and a winged backpack.

This piece is part of the Icarus serie because represents people a new Icaro, with a big desire to fly. The artist love Icaro’s story and metaphor of a man willing to take risks and to fly away from his unsatisfy current situation. He is a person who wants big changes and it is key for having a great life.

This piece is part of the collection Disfraces e Identidad (Customs and Identities), where Francesca explores different aspect of the person identity, and how people wear roles and personalities according to the situation. In this serie, the artist wonders what is the true self, and what is a lie we tell other and the society.

this is a unique piece and there is no other like it.


Francesca Dalla Benetta was born in Florence, Italy, on August 18, 1977. After a truncated career in Physics, she studied the Bachelor of Arts in the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Milan, graduating in 2003. She is specialized in Cinematographic Special Effects and Sculpture. Since 2003 she has worked on numerous film projects such as Make Up Artist and as a Sculptor.

She has 15 individual and even more collective exhibitions as a sculptor, at an international level. Since 2009 Francesca is dedicated to teaching (sculpture and special effects), individually or in groups, She is FX teacher in IDIP (Institute of Design and Professional Image). She has taught in different institutions such as Tec de Monterrey in San Luis Potosí and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Matamoros, Tamaulipas.
