Art Nouveau 800 Silver European Repousse Lipstick Case & Mirror.

This unusual lipstick case was created in 1918 ca. It has been hand crafted out of silver and is marked 800 on the lipstick container. There is a n unidentified makers mark next to the silver content mark. On the opposite side the number 4 is engraved When the lid is pulled out a hinged mirror in a silver frame springs open. The frame around the mirror is engraved with a zig zag garland. A silver mounted Turquoise cabochon is shifted upwards to reveal the lipstick. The outside of the little vanity case is decorated with chased and engraved flowers. The Space behind the rectangular mirror is hollow and filled with a filling material to hold the mirror in place.

Excellent condition. Age related wear.
